Renting a chiller van, freezer van or refrigerated truck for the first time? This chiller van rental FAQ answers the questions we hear every day: what it costs, which size you need, how cold it gets, who drives, and how fast we can reach you. Answers are short, and each one links to the page with the full details.
Straight answers on what renting a cold vehicle costs in Dubai and the UAE.
A 1 ton freezer van starts from AED 500 per day and a 3 ton freezer van from AED 700. Freezer vans cost a little more than chiller vans because they need a stronger unit. See freezer van rental.
Yes, but only with separately controlled hot and cold compartments — a single-zone bag or vehicle can’t hold both correctly.
A 3 ton refrigerated truck starts from AED 500 per day and a 5 ton from AED 600. Frozen and multi-temperature set-ups are quoted per job. See refrigerated truck for rent.
No. We agree one fixed price before you book. Fuel, Salik and insurance are included when you hire with a driver, and nothing is added after the job.
Yes. If you need a vehicle three or more days a week, monthly hire usually costs much less per day. Read monthly vs daily chiller van rental
Vehicle size, temperature (frozen costs more than chilled), hire length, distance, number of drops, and timing such as night, pre-dawn or same-hour jobs.
Which van or truck fits your load.
Chiller vans, freezer vans, chiller trucks from 3 to 10 ton, freezer and multi-temperature trucks, tail lift trucks and pickups. See our full fleet.
Up to about 1.5 tonnes or two pallets, a van is cheaper. Above that, one truck trip costs less than several van trips. Our comparison guide explains the difference.
A 3 ton truck carries about 4 to 6 pallets, a 5 ton about 6 to 8, a 7 ton about 8 to 10 and a 10 ton about 12 to 14, depending on weight and stacking.
Yes. Our compact chiller vans are Hiace-class vans that carry about 1 to 1.5 tonnes of crates and cartons, ideal for restaurants, cafés and pharmacies.
Yes. Tail lift trucks lower heavy goods to street level for addresses without a loading dock, both dry and refrigerated. See tail lift truck rental
Yes, a multi-temperature truck has two zones with separate temperatures. Never mix chilled and frozen goods in a single-zone van or truck.
How we keep your goods at the right temperature
A chiller van keeps goods between 2°C and 8°C, the safe range for fresh produce, dairy, fresh meat, flowers and most medicines. We can set a tighter range such as 0°C to 4°C for fresh fish.
A freezer van keeps goods at −18°C or colder. For ice cream we set −20°C to −25°C.
Mostly, yes. A refrigerated van is any van with a cooling unit. A chiller van is a refrigerated van set to 2°C to 8°C.
Not for food in the UAE. An insulated van has no cooling unit, so the temperature rises fast in the heat. Always book a vehicle with a working refrigeration unit.
Yes. The cargo box reaches your set temperature before the vehicle arrives, and the driver shows you the reading before loading starts.
Yes. A data logger records the box temperature throughout the trip, and you receive the record after delivery for your HACCP file or a food safety inspection
The driver sees the display and the unit alarms. They stop door openings, let the unit recover and call our dispatch team, who can send a replacement vehicle if needed. The temperature record shows exactly what happened.
